In June 2025<\/strong>, France will host the United Nations Ocean Conference (UNOC 2025)<\/strong> for the first time. And to host this global event, the French President Emmanuel Macron and the United Nations have chosen the city of Nice<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nice: an eco-responsible destination<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The French President announced it on social networks on February the 10th<\/strong> in the late afternoon.<\/p>\n\n\n

\u00ab\u00a0The Third United Nations Ocean Conference, organised by France and Costa Rica, will take place in 2025 in Nice! Jointly organised by France and Costa Rica<\/strong>, this summit meeting will bring together heads of state and government from all over the world for one week. This conference is a major event in the fight against global warming and the preservation of maritime spaces<\/strong>. Thus, this decision is \u00ab\u00a0the right recognition of Nice’s commitment to the preservation of marine environments\u00a0\u00bb<\/strong> according to Christian Estrosi, Mayor of Nice, President of the Nice C\u00f4te d’Azur Metropolis and Delegate President of the Provence Alpes C\u00f4te d’Azur Region.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Nice on the international scene<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This is not the first time that Nice will host a large-scale event on the subject. In 2021, it was the venue for the sixteenth edition of the Assises de l’\u00e9conomie de la Mer<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Similarly, many international sporting events will be held in the C\u00f4te d’Azur capital<\/strong>. Indeed, it has been chosen as the final leg of the 2024 Tour de France<\/a>, and it will host several matches of the 2023 Rugby World Cup<\/a>. The final phase of the Ironman triathlon competition<\/strong> will also take place there for the next 4 years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thus, Nice is gradually becoming a city that cannot be ignored on the international scene.<\/p>\n\n\n
